Development of advanced Dyna systems for Glass Repair Systems.

Van Wees Waalwijk

In close cooperation with Van Wees Waalwijk, Glass Repair Systems (GRS) has developed a revolutionary system for car window repairs, called the Dyna system. The system is unique because it is compact and delivers outstanding results in car glass repairs.

Development of proprietary glass repair system

It all started when Glass Repair Systems was looking for a local supplier for a demo window in a steel window. The first contact was made with Van Wees Waalwijk, as an established name in the Waalwijk area. The direct and efficient contact led to a fruitful collaboration.

The idea to develop our own version of a glass repair system originated some 10 years ago with Maikel van Daelen, co-owner of Glass Repair Systems. With his experience in auto glass repair, he knew where things could be done better and how he would like to see them done. That was the start of the development of his own unique glass repair system.

With the expertise of Van Wees Waalwijk as a product engineer, this idea was transformed into a quality product. Van Wees Waalwijk thought along, every detail was carefully considered and the close cooperation resulted in a top quality product.

From idea to concrete design

During this collaboration, the ideas in Maikel's head were translated into concrete designs. Engineer Joran de Jong of Van Wees Waalwijk understood exactly what Maikel meant, further thought out the product and converted this into detailed drawings, where functionality and manufacturability were key.

The close cooperation ensured that both parties felt and understood each other perfectly. Thanks to the proximity of Van Wees Waalwijk, the development process could proceed quickly and efficiently. Regular consultation and direct feedback ensured that the Dyna system quickly took shape.

"It's nice when an engineer like Joran looks and thinks with you. Especially when he understands what ideas you have in your head. We sensed each other perfectly. Joran always understood exactly what I meant. We found each other in the development of the Dyna system.

Being close by was also very nice. If a new step was taken or Joran wanted to have another consultation, I was at Van Wees Waalwijk in a few minutes and could look at the computer with Joran," Maikel van Daelen explains enthusiastically.

Engineer Joran adds: "In addition to a piece of functionality of the system, I always thought about manufacturability. Can we make this design in our own workshop. An important condition for keeping the system affordable. And of course to be able to switch quickly without being dependent on other parties."

A green approach

The result is a product that is not only functional but also sustainable. GRS and Van Wees Waalwijk have committed to a green approach, using local suppliers and high-quality materials to create a product that will last a lifetime.

The system, which is now supplied throughout Europe, is distinguished by its compact size and unique ability to inject and repair under vacuum. Every detail has been carefully thought through, with the expertise and commitment of Van Wees Waalwijk as an indispensable factor.

Further development of product

Several versions of the system are now available, including the GRS DynaVac Pro for users who prefer not to set the height themselves, the GRS DynaMite for experts who want to set the height themselves and the anniversary edition GRS DynaLED with built-in UV lamp.

The green approach runs as a thread through these developments. Whenever something is renewed, it can also be used by customers who have an older system. Buying a new system is not necessary, upgrading the existing system is sufficient.

Every detail has been thought about

"Every detail of this system has been thought through. Without Van Wees Waalwijk it would not have been possible. The tripod distributes the pressure so that the damage does not spread. The threads of both the stand and the injector are made of stainless steel, this ensures stable placement of the injector. The injector itself has variable plungers so the user can super fine tune the position of the injector. The seal rings, the resins, the suction cups, the seals; all the materials are matched."

"Van Wees Waalwijk also developed with us the UV lamp, it fits perfectly over the GRS Dyna system. And even the liver (hold down lever) is where a work of art. Perfectly fitting, functional and also beautiful to look at," said a proud Margot van Daelen, co-owner Glass Repair Systems.

Engineering = interplay

"At Van Wees Waalwijk, they understand how a collaboration should be. They understand how it works. The lines of communication are very short. They start with a functional design but also make sure the final product looks nice. Ideas and 3D design drawings are turned into prototypes. These are tested in the workshop so that the final product meets all requirements before it is taken into production. That gives certainty and that is very nice!", Maikel concludes.

Engineer Joran has translated the client's idea into manufacturability, as he himself describes it. Van Wees Waalwijk looks beyond the product and thinks about the market. Van Wees Waalwijk always has the same goal; develop a good product together with the client, invest in satisfied clients and aim for long-term relationships with the client. This creates the perfect interplay, as is the case between GRS and Van Wees Waalwijk.
